Matthew Matt James, born 5 December 1991 in North Carolina. Matthew Matt James is the son of Manny James and Patty James of mixed race. The mother of Manny James was caucasian and his father Nigerian. In 2010, he graduated of Sanderson High School and furthered to Wake Forest University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Economics in 2015. James gained fame when the reality show aired him as a star in The Bachelorette. In 2020, he was chosen to be the next bachelor on The Bachelor's season 25 becoming The first African American male lead which later premiered in 2021. James seemed to be the perfect match to be the role because his attractive, well-rounded and large-bodied personality. The show ended when he chose Rachael Krkconnell as his choice to begin a relationship with her. The following year, in 2021, he got a partner with the famous dancer Arnold for season 30 Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold placed 12th.
